Today marks one year…

…since George Perry Floyd Jr. was murdered by police during an arrest after a store clerk suspected he may have used a counterfeit $20 bill. The world watched as a Minneapolis police officer knelt on Floyd’s neck and back for 9 minutes and 29 seconds until he was lifeless. And the world reacted with both peaceful and not so peaceful protests, including right here in Reno. My coverage of the local events includes both the peaceful protests and ugly riots. I am sharing just a few of the 250 images I shot last year.

I was hoping for a candle light vigil on the local plaza, but the only scheduled memorial is tonight in Carson City, a location which is out of reach for me.

These images were originally uploaded to my New York photo agency. But they failed to sell a single image to their customer base. Not the first time they’ve disappointed me, but certainly the last

I posted this last image separately because this guy appeared to be making an attempt to intimidate those present by showing his sidearm. Not too smart…
