Testing a new prime lens

Been wanting to get a fast prime lens for my evening street photography for some time now. I have a Sigma 85mm f1.4 and an old Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX. Both f-mount lenses that work well on my Z-mount with the adapter. The auto focus on the 50mm can at times be a little finicky and I wanted something a little wider than the 50mm. Couldn’t decide whether to get a 28mm or 35mm. I can’t count the times I went to the B&H Photo website to look at the lenses, then just click the page off. I wanted something different. Something that would challenge me as a photographer. I ended up getting a Thypoch Simera 28mm f1.4 manual focus lens. The challenge part is the manual focus. My eyesight isn’t as good anymore and I depend on auto focus on all of my lenses. Until now. I went out this evening to see how this little guy would perform, and I wasn’t disappointed. I ended up trashing a few because of missed focus, but the ones that survived were rather impressive, if I may say so myself. The reviews were spot on. And all for a mere $499. The only thing I have found that I don’t like is that it doesn’t have electrical contacts. So it doesn’t talk to the camera. It’s a Chinese made lens, so prices will start to rise with the new tariffs. But it is highly recommended, if you’re into manual focus lenses. This is my first Z-Mount dedicated lens
