I don’t normally respond to people’s request for an impromptu photograph when they pull up to me on the sidewalk, but I figured I may as well start doing it. They pulled up to a red traffic light and yelled out the window for me to take their picture. So I did. And this is the result

Turns out it is a gang sign. Google informs me that it’s the Latin King gang sign. According to Wikipedia, The Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation is a gang active primarily in the United States. The gang was founded by Puerto Ricans in Chicago, Illinois, in 1954. The Latin Kings are one of the largest Hispanic and Latino street and prison gangs worldwide.
