The annual Artown festival is just around the corner. The month of July is always considered Artown month. Artown, which got it’s start in 1996, was a way to counteract suburban flight and revitalize downtown Reno by getting more people to visit the downtown area. An arts themed festival, it was created through the efforts of civic leaders, business people, and the arts community. This art exhibit will be on display in front of the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts through the month of July. The original art pieces will be on display on the first floor of the historic Post Office.
