The process of removing the Aqua Dam to reopen the river has begun. Work on the Boat Ramp continued while a crew was, with the aid of a crane, removing all the sand bags. One by one, each bag was lifted over to a dump truck where it was sliced open to remove the contents. Eventually the Aqua Dam bladder was slowly pulled over to the peninsula and probably discarded. Because I’m elderly (73) and after standing for 3+ hours without a break, I wasn’t there to witness the big finale. But I’m sure it was executed perfectly without me.
