…someone will approach me out of the blue and ask that I take their picture. And it happened again today. I am usually reluctant to oblige because I question what their motive is? What to do with the resulting image? This request was different from the others. He asked I take his photo while standing next to the bus we were waiting to board. The money he is holding in his right hand is what he offered me for my taking the time to do this. I told him to give the money to someone needy. But then as we boarded the bus he pulled out a “large” wad of dollar bills from his pocket and again offered me money, only this time it was ten dollars. And again I insisted he give it to someone he knows in need. He even offered to put more than the three dollars required to ride the bus into the fare box. And at that point I suspected this fella was troubled. You can see it in his eyes in the image. Not only does he appear to be spaced out, he is wearing his jacket inside out. At one point on the route he exited the bus through the back door and then immediately went to the front door and asked the driver if he could get back on. He had paid for a pass, so there was no denying him passage. But it was just so weird.
