Very rarely do these birds venture out during the daylight hours searching for food. They are usually hiding among the branches of a tree, safe from the prying eyes and lethal claws of our resident Red Tailed Hawk. This is the second time I’ve witnessed one on these steps, hoping for crumbs from passersby who normally feed the ducks and geese, even though their main diet consists of small fish. I’ve been photographing these guys for several years now and always tend to fascinate me with those red eyes.
