Changing the bulbs on the Reno Arch (Updated 3/5)

The Reno Arch is used to celebrate or bring attention to a cause by installing colorful lights that correspond to that particular event. It appears the bulbs are being replaced with pink ones. Not sure what the pink represents for the month of March, as I can’t find any indication of an upcoming lighting ceremony. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

UPDATE 3/4: Evidently the sign was damaged during one of the wind storms and they were replacing the damaged panels. Which included the entire center row of panels.

International Women’s Day is this coming weekend, but the pink or purple bulbs (it’s difficult to tell in the daylight) being installed with the new panels are not a part of that event. No ceremonies are scheduled, according to my inside source.

UPDATE 3/5: More bulbs have been replaced and they are all purple. So it is being prepared for International Women’s Day. Evidently without a lighting ceremony.
